Proud of England's Boys

I don't really follow that much sport, but during these European Championships I have been enchanted, bedazzle and sometimes stressed, yet always so proud of our players and their manager. The football has been enjoyable to see, and always improving, and the boys have made a nation so proud not just in their performances but also in their actions.

To see my team taking the knee at the start of each match, showing a sign of solidarity and support for those around the world facing social injustice and suffering at the hands of racism, it's really something special and worthy to be proud of. Then to see our keeper join the German keeper by wearing the pride armband as a show of support against homophobia and intolerance is nothing short of wonderful.

Whatever the result of the final may be, this team has shown themselves to be wonderful both on the pitch and by standing against the hatred that is plaguing our world right now. I am so proud of our boys.
